South Rim Passages - COTC

South Rim Passages - Complete RWGPS Collection
A landscape scene of a sunset over a flat plain with some sparse grass and shrubs, a few trees, and a mountain in the background; dark clouds are in the sky, with an orange glow near the horizon.

The South Rim COTC can be broken up into a series of Passages.

Passages are loops that provide cyclists the opportunity to section-ride, overnight, or day ride portions of the route.

These routes are designed for riders who:

  1. Don't have enough time/money for the full Capes of the Canyon in one continuous trip but instead want to section-ride the route over time.

  2. Are new to bikepacking and feel more comfortable taking on shorter Passages of the routes.

  3. Want to explore the Grand Canyon region on day rides or on shorter overnighters.

  4. Have narrower weather windows outside of the optimal seasons/conditions for riding the whole route.
