LCR Headwaters Hoop is a modified version of the El Lobo Lupus bikepacking route. This version takes riders on a big loop via the base of Mount Baldy, treks across high-altitude meadows, swoops around Big Lake, and travels through miles and miles of Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest. LCR refers to the Little Colorado River which famously starts here in the White Mountains of eastern Arizona. The LCR Headwaters Hoop crosses and parallels the West, East, and South Forks of the Little Colorado River where it starts as gurgling creeks and beaver-filled streams.
